3 New Year’s Resolutions That Will Boost Your Happiness in 2018

Happy New Year! It’s January 1st, and you know what that means — everyone’s New Year’s resolutions are in full effect.

When it comes to New Year’s goals, I’ve noticed the same trend year after year — they typically focus on improving physical health, being a better person, being more environmentally friendly, and spending money wisely.

Don’t get me wrong, these are all great goals to have, however, there’s a theme that often gets left out: happiness and personal well-being. And if you ask me, these are just as important.

The following three resolutions are focused solely on your happiness and reeling in positive vibes this year. If you don’t already have these on your list, you better go add them, stat!

Love Your Body Unconditionally

Body positivity has come so far in 2017, cheers to that! But there’s still so much work to be done. Play your part in 2018 by starting with yourself — love your banging bod, truly and unconditionally.

If hitting the gym or eating healthier are also priorities this year, more power to you! But remember, as Sophia Bush once said, “You are allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress, simultaneously”.

Trim The Fat

I’m not talking about a diet, I’m talking about people. Take a good, hard look at the folks you surround yourself with. Do they make you happy? Are they supportive? Do they have a positive impact in your life? If you’re finding that there are individuals in your inner circle who aren’t living up to these principles, it might be time to reconsider the friendship.

Positive outcomes start with positive environments, so surround yourself with people who love, encourage and push you to be the best version of yourself. As for everyone else, let them go. Trim the fat and live your best year yet!

Make More Time For Yourself

When’s the last time you did something exclusively for yourself? With a busy, bustling schedule, ‘me’ time can so often get pushed to the back burner. This year, put yourself first (even if it is for just a few moments a day). Take some time, daily, to do something just for you — whether that’s a hobby that brings you joy, teaching yourself a new skill, or simply relaxing and unwinding after a long day. You may be surprised by how this simple act could help you better recharge and reevaluate. And hey, you may even learn something new about yourself, too.

Here’s to a brand new year, my friends! Good luck with all your ambitions and aspirations for 2018.
